A session is a critique journey about one subject. Each photo you submit is an attempt. You can step back and forth through attempts to compare them, open a timeline of all attempts with scores and badges, and reshoot until the critic is satisfied.
What are badges?
Badges are awards generated by the critic for individual photos — for content, quality, or a marked improvement over earlier attempts. Every badge in your collection has actually been earned; there is no fixed catalogue to grind through.
Is The Critiqueur free?
The app is free to download and includes trial critiques so you can try it without paying. After that you can subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan or buy consumable critique packs that never expire.
Do I need an account?
No. The Critiqueur works without accounts, sign-ups, or email addresses. Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play, and an active subscription can be restored on a new device by restoring the purchase. A subscription's quota can also be shared across your own devices with a simple code — still no account required.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
Photos you submit for critique are transmitted securely to our service, where an AI model analyzes them to generate the critique. Your session gallery and history are stored locally on your device. Photos are not shared publicly and are not used for advertising.
Can it review my photos and help me pick the best one?
Yes. Submit the frames you're choosing between as attempts in one session, and the timeline lines up every verdict and badge side by side so you can see which shot the critic rates highest.
Can The Critiqueur teach me photography?
It's a practice tool rather than a course. Every critique points at a specific fix — the horizon, the light, the crop, the moment you missed — and you learn by shooting it again. Pick the Encouraging Mentor persona if you'd rather be coached than skewered.
